Location Plantings - Moolap Station Road, Moolap
Moolap Railway Station Site
A station consisting of a wooden passenger platform was erected at Moolap and opened on 1st August 1881. A small shelter shed/office was added in 1887. Passenger traffic was generated by the nearby saltworks, but after WW1, Moolap generated very little traffic.
The platform was abolished on 10 March 1936. Improved roads and proximity to Geelong forced Moolap's closure. The photos below show:-
